POST NEWSPAPER CROWDS CHEAT THE COBRA

...IN 2006, THE POST SHOWED BIGGER CROWDS BUT SATA TUMBLED SUCCESSFULLY

By SUFZ Staff
Fred M’membe’s and Patriotic Front (PF) controlled Post Newspaper that is being used as PF’s campaign tool has started splashing pictures for the King Cobra’s rallies to show the popularity but Zambians should ignore the tactic because it has been failing since 2006 when they showed much bigger crowds than they are showing now.

The pictures are meant to give the impression that the Cobra has taken over all the provinces when the truth is that the people merely attend his rallies to listen to comedy while others are arranged pictures as part of the PF propaganda.

MMD National Youth Chairman Moses Muteteka said in an interview in Lusaka July 18, that there was nothing special about the pictures because in 2006 the Post printed pictures showing lager crowds but the Cobra tumbled.

Mr. Muteteka who is deputy minister of Local Government and Housing advised Zambians to critically examine and differentiate between a good and a bad leader before the forthcoming tripartite elections.

He said Zambians should vote wisely so that the current social and economic gains were upheld and fostered.

He feared that careless choices in the 2011 tripartite elections may plunge the country back into high poverty levels which the current government of president Rupiah Banda had successfully addressed.

Mr. Muteteka appealed to Zambian Youths to be particularly careful with who they vote for as a president because their choice will help shape their future.

He pointed out that the Zambian Youth should help improve their future prospects by voting for good leaders whose focus was on making Zambia a better country for upcoming generations.

Mr. Muteteka said among all presidential aspirants in the 2011 tripartite elections, President Banda is the most suitable candidate who should be voted in to lead the country again.  He said President Banda had so far exhibited typical characteristics of a good leader because of his respect and humility.

Mr. Muteteka said the President respected traditional leaders and had promoted their status through the government initiative to buy them vehicles for easy monitoring of development projects.

He said President Banda had also scored remarkably in the education, health, and agriculture sector while improving infrastructure development in the country.

His government improved the agriculture sector leading to consecutive bumper harvests in the last few years.

“To me, president Banda comes out very clearly as the right person to continue with the leadership and good governance of the country,” he said.  Mr. Muteteka said President Banda always used sober and palatable language to every Zambian regardless of age and status in society.

He further implored parents not to allow their children to associate with leaders that had a history of violence, insults and disrespect.

Mr. Muteteka said Zambians were now able to clearly see which political party leaders dealt in insults, violence and disrespect for people including chiefs.
